Trent Burkett is a veteran music educator with over 30 years of experience. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Troy State University. He is the retired Director of Bands for Troy City Schools and Charles Henderson High School. In 2014 the Charles Henderson HS Concert Band was featured at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His bands have also performed at the Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic, the Alabama Music Educators Conference, and on the publication CD’s of Jalen Publishing Co.
He is the retired Executive Director of the Southeastern States Marching Band Festival, held annually in Troy Alabama. He has served on the Alabama Bandmasters Association State Board and is currently a Senior Member of the Board of Directors for the Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic and Honor Bands.
Mr. Burkett is active as a State Music Performance Assessment Adjudicator and as a clinician. He lives in Troy Alabama with his wife Marjorie and their two boys, Collin and Brayden.
