Kim Tallungan has been a band director for 15 years, spending the last 12 years as a 5th and 6th grade band director for Homewood School District 153. She is passionate about giving the youngest band students the best learning experience possible. In addition, she works as assistant marching band director at Homewood-Flossmoor High School and has adjudicated various contests while also working as a clinician.
Kim received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and sits on the UI Bands Alumni board as secretary and actively participates in all Alumni Band activities.
Kim has traveled with many different bands to a variety of locations since she was a junior high band student and, because of her experiences, has developed a passion for travel. She has seen firsthand how group travel experiences can change a student's life and she is committed to providing the best possible experience to you and your students.
When Kim isn't busy at work or planning her next travel adventure, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, their two young daughters, Mallory and Kariella, and their St. Bernard puppy, Moira. She also enjoys running and tries to hit the pavement every place she can. And, as an avid baker, Kim hopes to make the world a happier place one batch of sweet treats at a time.
