Gregory Matushek taught in Illinois for 3 years before moving to Texas. While in Illinois, he taught at Westfield Middle School in Algonquin, Illinois. His responsibilities included teaching 5th and 6th grade band and the 2nd Jazz Ensemble. He also assisted at Jacobs High School with the Marching Band and Music Directed the Jacobs musicals. Over the last three years, he has enjoyed work as a pit musician in and around Chicago.
Gregory received his Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education from Northern Illinois University and is currently in his first year of a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Texas State University. While at NIU, he had the opportunity to work with the marching band, helping to organize trips around the country and participating with the Red and Black classic hosted by NIU and the Phantom Regiment. He currently resides just south of Austin, Texas, and looks forward to working with you at Guardian!
